Session 4: Question 3
Would you recommend this book to your colleagues? Why or why not?
I would recommend this book to my colleagues because it is really easy to read. It has personal, relevant, and current scenarios that all teachers can relate. It is book that moves teachers forward into the 21st century.
@Annie...I think teachers who have been on a leave of absence from the profession (and from educational professional development) could read this book and try to catch the wave of innovation.
I would recommend this book absolutely. It was an easy read and I loved all the personal examples that we could all relate to. I loved how it was relative to what we are trying to do in our classroom currently. Great book.
Yes I would recommend this book especially the reading of the first four chapters. I found Chapter 4: The "Six Building Blocks of innovative Learning" extremely useful.
I would recommend this book to my colleagues, especially those interested in technology and social media. It was such a great read! It was also an easy read for me. I took so many great notes for many wonderful ideas that came from this book!
I would. A quick and easy read, I felt that this book provides for those unfamiliar with what innovation is an explanation of the vital role it plays in not only shaping society but also in determining which skills we as educators must help students to develop so that they may be successful once they leave our classrooms. To continue to teach using the traditional teacher led with student following method is to do our students a disservice and will ultimately ensure they will be ill prepared for the future. The author’s message not only drives this point home, but he provides tips and suggestions any educator may implement so that they may cultivate an innovative mindset in students.
I would recommend this book to my colleagues because it is a quick read and a genuine challenge to create a better life for us all.
ReplyDelete@Melanie I agree that is was a quick read and organized well.
DeleteI agree with Melanie Marshall's post on June 21st that it was a quick and inspiration to create a " better life" for educators.

DeleteI agree with Jeanne from July 7th that the personal examples were very relative and can also be adapted to our own classrooms.
